The section has the stipulated mandates of:

• Preparation of database on NGOs and Users Committees involved in the drinking water supply and sanitation sector.
• Take initiatives in studies including evaluations related with NGOs and community development and preparation of policies, rules and guidelines.
• Work in bringing coordination among users committees, NGOs, local bodies and the divisional and sub-divisional office of the DWSS.
