The human resources section operates
a well equipped and furnished training
section capable of providing training
and residence to 62 people at a time |
The section basically is in
charge of the Central Human Resource Development Unit (CHRDU)
that was set up within the framework of DWSS in 1987 CHRDU
has the mandate of operating as a focal point for manpower
planning and training in the water supply and sanitation sector
of Nepal.
CHRDU has developed training modules on different subjects
including: community management, sanitation, water quality,
groundwater, ferro-cement tank construction, gender, administration,
computer, GIS, etc. As per its mandate, CHRDU has also been
conducting training for other sectoral agencies in addition
to the training of DWSS staff, according to their needs and
request. Approval of ‘revolving fund’ by the council
of ministers, HMG, has enabled CHRDU to function as a semi-autonomous
institution. CHRDU now can make its physical facilities available
on hire for conducting training, workshop and research activities
and can take on consulting services.
Available facilities in CHRDU
- Main training center building with modern audiovisual equipments.

- rooms for computer, staff, trainer, store and library.
- Workshop cum laboratory building – having physical,
chemical and microbiological laboratory with equipments such
as AAS, spectrophoto meters, autoclave and other laboratory
accessories.
- Accommodation facilities for 62 participants.
- senior trainees dormitory, 32 bedrooms with attached bath,
kitchen, dinning hall, common room and reading room.
- junior trainees dormitory, 30 bedrooms with kitchen, dinning
hall, common room and reading room.
- Residential quarter -2
- Senior trainer’s apartments – 6 units each
with a bedroom, living room, kitchen, dinning, & bathroom
- Apartment building for junior trainers.
- Guard house.
